Page rebooter. Use it to DDOS sites that publishes names, identities of Iranian bloggers, protesters or resistance members. Beware: DDOS is contested, as it slows down the entire Iranian network.
Cyber War Guide for Iran Protests
On Boing Boing
1. Do NOT publicise proxy IP's over twitter, and especially not using the #iranelection hashtag
2. Hashtags, the only two legitimate hashtags being used by bloggers in Iran are #iranelection and #gr88
3. Keep you bull$hit filter up! Security forces are now setting up twitter accounts to spread disinformation by posing as Iranian protesters.
4. Help cover the bloggers: change your twitter settings so that your location is TEHRAN and your time zone is GMT +3.30.
5. Don't blow their cover! If you discover a genuine source, please don't publicise their name or location on a website.

Cyber warfare

Austin Heap says Freegate has cut Iran’s access by 75% after being hit with the realities of technical limitations. Private individuals cannot run Freegate “nodes” or servers as the source code nor binary for the server are available. Freegate runs all their “nodes” internally.

July 3 2009 update
THE NEEDLE IN THE HAYSTACK

In the upcoming days, Daniel Colascione and [Austin Heap] will release a new program to provide unfiltered internet access to the people of Iran. A software package for Windows, Mac and Unix systems, called Haystack, will specifically target the Iranian government’s web filtering mechanisms.

Similar to Freegate, the program directed against China’s “great firewall,” once installed Haystack will provide completely uncensored access to the internet in Iran while simultaneously protecting the user’s identity. No more Facebook blocks, no more government warning pages when you try to load Twitter, just unfiltered Internet.

HACKING
Use these instructions to disable websites attempting to identify Iranian protesters:
sahandnews.com is hunting down protesters: Go to START click RUN & type ping -t -l 60000 174.142.31.49 to attack and destroy!
gerdab.ir is hunting down protesters: Go to START click RUN & type ping -t -l 60000 81.12.13.144 to attack and destroy!
Hackers, use your skills! Nasty gvt website tracking protesters is asking desperatly hacked! http://ow.ly/fMWc
This guy claims his virtual machine will slow down only the target, not the entire Iranian web.
PROXIES
If you are in Iran, use IP Rental or another service set up for you to refresh your IP adresses instantly, constantly and for free. Secure your anonymity.
plz email proxies to gr88proxies@googlegroups.com
TOR
Tor is a program that allows people to bypass firewalls and use the internet anonymously. Communications from Iran are being actively filtered and they are trying to block some proxies too. Here is a step-by-step tutorial to set up Tor and help Iranians access the web without getting detained, tortured.

When you get the Tor running, post it here
SPAMMING
Usually spam is a 4 letter word, but in this context comment spamming is an important way of stressing, confounding state press core, officials and politicians concerned with national image: "Irans propaganda machine: http://www.presstv.ir/ You can post messages to their news lies. Go give them hell: post post post"
INFO-WAR
In a country like Iran, the government rules the media. The Media can only report what they are allowed to report, once the news passes the official censors. The idea is to get news from the outside world circulating in Iran, forwarded as emails or printed and circulated by hand. The plan is to send enough material into Iran that even if a secretary picks up a fax, she can read a bit of information before she passes it on, or tosses the fax. Irancontacts is all about getting so much information into Iran that the censors cannot catch it all!
